ジェンダーとジャニーズ

Recently in Japan, a behavior of a Japanese male idol provokes a discussion. Through a segment of a TV program, he expresses "wrong" or "old-fashioned" value about women.

The program was like this; he selects female who walk in the street and interview them. When he chooses interviewee, he mentiones their looking and uses it to judge them. During interview, he sometimes asks them very pesonal questions, for example, do you have a boyfriend?/ Why not? or Are you married?/ Why not?. Let me get this straight, it's noe of your business. I couldn't understand intention of creaters who involve this show and also have sense of danger about him and other people(idols) who belong to the same entertainment office as him because this is not only his fault but the office's way of raising idols is more problem. Johnny & Associates is unique company in terms of its existance, only man(in this context, people whose sex are diagnosed as men) can belong to that company and their main job is to entertain (mainly) women. They can sing, dance, act, and some of them success in other fields such as, commentater, announcer, news caster, and chairperson.

Considering this, I personally think they have to pay more attention to their value about gender or sex especially for women because they have more opportunities to communicate with women than entertsainers who belong to other office.

By the way, there are people who have neutral positon to gender, such as Yoshihiko Inohara, a menber of V6. Until March 2018, he was in charge of chairpeson in the morning show called "Asaichi" for 8years. This is broadcasted by NHK and some audience thought him as an anouncer of NHK, so he wasoften pointed out by audience's opinion like "that announcer wears too roughly/ announcer should use more formal words". That program was very experimental and challenging, so it covered political issues, aging issues, food, cleaning, housework, trips, women's health, and sexless marriage.

On a morning, the first topis was about period, and Inohara was only man who were there but he didn't hesitate to talk about it and have opinion about any topic, In addion, some cases he claimed opposite opinion to exsperts. (That's why I really like him imao)

I don't really mean to compare them but Inohara is a good example to reveal that even though he started to belong the company at age of 12, he can have certain opinion/position which doesn't contain threats to discriminate someone. So, he, as I mentioned at first also will be able to rethink himself and get a new value.

Through everyday life, we have to play gender role constantly and that always leans on us.

As long as "old fashioned" value exist, this society will last as unconfortable world for women.

I personally don't want to marry and have children, it's my life and none of your business, don't bother me.
